Major Chinese HJT equipment supplier Maxwell Technologies announced on Wednesday that it had signed a contract with REC Group for the whole line equipment of heterojunction cell. The order includes the supply of core heterojunction cell production equipment such as PECVD, PVD and screen printing for REC's 400 MW production line in Singapore.
This cooperation was deemed as a major breakthrough for China's photovoltaic equipment enterprises, since the country’s photovoltaic enterprises were mainly dedicated to module development, and highly depends on imports on equipment on producing upstream raw materials and high-purity crystalline silicon.
Through independent research and development, Maxwell has made great breakthroughs in key technologies. Screen printing equipment has been exported to overseas markets for a long time, and has launched an early layout in the production of heterojunction cells, and achieved good results.
